Reporting directly to the Head of Service for Youth Justice, you will be expected to provide independent monitoring of quality assurance activities undertaken by the youth justice service and partnership as well as preparing reports for the monthly Youth Justice Service Quality & Performance Meeting. This role is expected to be for 3 days per month for the next 6 months and potentially extended further subject to a review.
The lead quality assurance monitoring manager plays a critical role in driving high quality practice that improves standards and outcomes for children being supported by the service and partnership. This will be underpinned by an excellent knowledge and understanding of case management guidance, national standards and child first guiding principles.
Tasks Include:
• Independent monitoring of full-case audits and dip-sample audits completed by the youth justice service and partnership to ensure practice achieves compliance and quality regarding child first principles, case management guidance, standards for children in youth justice and national standards.
• Producing a report for the monthly Youth Justice Service Quality & Performance Meeting which provides a comprehensive overview related to the outcome of audits. This includes identifying areas of excellent practice and proving recommendations for areas of improvement to be considered by the service and partnership.
• Participating in relevant meetings on an ad hoc basis where required (e.g. group audit exercises & quality & performance meeting).
We’re looking for a candidate with significant experience as a manager in a youth justice service setting. Your experience in this arena makes assessing others’ work second nature and you can clearly communicate areas of excellent practice as well as where improvement is needed. You have a strong understanding of the financial, social and political pressures facing local government in terms of Youth Justice provision.
You will have an excellent track record of delivering successful outcomes for young people within a diverse urban community, through quality assurance techniques and analysing data – you will be able to demonstrate this clearly at interview, with examples. You have high working standards and are conscious of your own professional development, whilst actively seeking avenues of learning and improvement for yourself and others.
This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape a service, drive improvement and make a huge difference in young people’s lives.
