This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It sets out the steps taken by Atom Services Limited during the financial year ending 31st October, 2025 to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery in all its forms.
A. Organisation Structure, Business, and Supply Chains
- Structure: Atom Services Limited is a private limited company operating in the Facility management, Healthcare, Social care and Railway sectors with our headquarters based in Benfleet, Essex. United Kingdom.
- Business: We provide facility management services such as cleaning, portering, security services, catering to estates. In the social care sector, we also provide non-medical support to vulnerable individuals to help them maintain their independence and quality of life. Assisting with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, eating, and managing medication. Furthermore, we supply safety critical and non-safety critical staffs to the railway sector.
B. Policies in Relation to Slavery and Human Trafficking
We operate internal policies that stack up against modern slavery risks. These include:
- Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy: Confirms our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity.
- Whistleblowing Policy: Encourages all workers to report any concerns or wrongdoing without fear of reprisal.
- Recruitment/HR Policy: Ensures robust checks on direct employment eligibility, fair pay, and adherence to local labour laws.
- Supplier Code of Conduct: Sets clear expectations that our suppliers must never use forced, compulsory, or trafficked labour.
C. Due Diligence Processes
To identify and mitigate risk, our due diligence processes involve:
- Mapping our supply chain to evaluate particular product or geographical risks.
- Evaluating new and existing suppliers through questionnaires and compliance checks.
- Requiring high-risk suppliers to confirm adherence to anti-slavery standards before contract approval.
D. Risk Assessment and Management
- Risk Areas: We have assessed that the areas of highest risk within our operations relate to outsourced services.
- Steps Taken: We manage these risks by ensuring that we do not outsource our services and by maintaining direct relationships with primary suppliers, and requiring transparency.
E. Measuring Effectiveness (Key Performance Indicators)
We use the following performance indicators (KPIs) to measure how effectively we ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place:
- Training Completion Rate: Percentage of relevant staff who have completed anti-slavery training.
- Supplier Audits: Number of high-risk suppliers reviewed or audited during the financial year.
- Reports Received: Number of concerns or whistleblowing reports raised through our internal channels regarding human rights issues.
F. Training and Capacity Building
- We provide awareness training to relevant staff – particularly those in procurement, human resources, and senior management, to help them spot signs of modern slavery.
- Refresher guidance and informational resources are accessible via our internal staff intranet to build ongoing capacity and vigilance.
